Vacation Program Descriptions

Monday (Feb 16th)
Morning Going Ballistic: Built a catapult and learn about trajectories as you try to hit the target and destroy the castle. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Edible Earth: Learn about the layers of the Earth from core to crust as we dig into a layered rice crispy treat Earth model!
Afternoon Dungeon Delvers: Mysterious ruins of a long-vanished empire have been found on a remote island, and you, novice archaeologists and adventurers, have been hired to investigate. What secrets and monsters lurk? You'll need your best detective skills to figure this one out!

Constructo-Mania Freestyle: Freestyle building with Legos, K'Nex, Magnetex, cardboard tubes, play dough, etc. as well as beading and bracelet making, coloring, and papercrafts.

Tuesday (Feb 17th)
Morning Ooze Schmooze: We'll start with a basic ooze recipe and experiment by adding different ingredients. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. Learn some clever construction techniques then set your creation loose!
Break Gummi Cells: Learn about the first forms of life to appear on Earth. Building a sweet single-celled organism with organelles, mitochondria and chloroplasts made out of candy!
Afternoon Dungeon Delvers: Our intrepid archeologist adventures continue to explore the mysterious ruins on a remote island. What strange artifacts will they find?

Constructo-Mania Freestyle: Freestyle building with Legos, K'Nex, Magnetex, cardboard tubes, play dough, etc. as well as beading and bracelet making, coloring, and papercrafts.

Wednesday (Feb 18th)
Morning Sugar Science: Sugar is a complex molecule with many interesting properties. We'll study the chemistry of sugar, from how it's created by plants to the different forms it can take through processing, and making two types of candy! Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn how to make your robot sense and respond to the environment with sensors then set your creation loose!
Break Life in Water Cake: Over millions of years, living things changed, growing bigger and more complex, but were restricted to a watery environment. Relive those times by devouring a watercake, a see-through agar cake with an ancient ocean species inside!
Afternoon Dungeon Delvers: More details emerge as our hardy archeologist heroes investigate deeper to unlock the mystery of the long-vanished empire's strange ruins. Keep your blade clean and your wits sharp!

Thursday (Feb 19th)
Morning Electric Mischief: How do electrical devices work? How does energy get from a battery to a light bulb in a flashlight? Learn about electric circuits, then make some conductive play-dough and LEDs to make a light-up pet to take home. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot, then set your creation loose!
Break Life on Land Cake: Life finally moves out of the jello depths, colonizing the surface of a delicious cake.
Afternoon Dungeon Delvers: The ancient ruins do not give up their secrets easily. Our courageous archeologists need both strength and smarts to solve this baffling mystery!

Friday (Feb 20th)
Morning Zipline Contraptions: Calling all constructo-maniacs! Build contraptions that balance and shoot down a zip line. Use your imagination and come up with the craziest zipliner ever! Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot, then set your creation loose!
Break Chocolate Dino Fossils: What do fossils and candy molds have in common? Both work by using negative space. See the process and make some yummy fossils!
Afternoon Dungeon Delvers: With great determination and a healthy dose of luck, our brave adventurers forge ahead to unlock the final secrets of the ancient ruins and bring home the fabulous treasure!

Vacation Week Tuition

Dates: Feb 16th - Feb 20th.
Program hours: 9:00am-4:00pm.

Each morning includes a science class and a technology class, followed by a fun educational activity in the afternoon!
Extended hours: Extended AM hours are offered from 8:30am to 9:00am at an additional weekly cost of $30 ($6 per day).
Extended PM hours are offered from 4:00pm to 4:30pm at an additional weekly cost of $30.
Cost: Daily tuition: $75 Full week: $360
Sign up for four or more days and receive your choice of a swimming robot fish or crystal growing tree.
Siblings get a 10% discount.
