Vacation Program Descriptions

Monday (Feb 20th)
Morning Gumdrop Structures: Explore delicious geometry as we make and compare various 3D shapes. How strong can gumdrops be? Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Gingerbread: One's hard and crunchy, the other soft and moist. Which is tougher?
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.

Tuesday (Feb 21st)
Morning Vertical Jello: Make jello towers and test their structural integrity! Then explore out how the gelatin's internal structure affects color diffusion and create jello window clings to take home. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Jello: Devour your creations.
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.

Wednesday (Feb 22nd)
Morning Warm Hands and Rainbows: Use the power of chemistry to make a handwarmer, then arrange gel crystals to make a diffusion rainbow. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Fried Banana: Taste the difference heat can make.
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.

Thursday (Feb 23rd)
Morning Aquatic Ecosystems: Under the ice tiny aquatic creatures are waiting for the spring thaw. Take home a mini aquatic habitat. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Seaweed: A healthy snack!
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.

Friday (Feb 24th)
Morning Crystal Mountain: Make a paper mountain that bursts with crystal "snow", and take home a crystal geode project. Learn about how real mountains and geodes form in nature. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Rock Candy: Crystals you can eat.
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.





Vacation Week Tuition

Dates: Feb 20th - 24th.
Program hours: 9:00am-4:00pm.

Daily Schedule: Morning is one science class and one technology class, followed by lunch and recess. We then get back to learning with a fun educational activity in the afternoon.
Extended hours: Extended AM hours are offered starting at 8:15am at an additional cost of $8 per day.
Extended PM hours are offered from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at an additional cost of $8 per half hour.
