Vacation Program Descriptions

Thursday (Dec 20th)
Morning Electric Origami: Learn about series and parallel circuits, then use the knowledge to construct an electric critter. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Light-Up Lemonade: Drinkable glow.
Afternoon Crispy Castles: Discover the importance of structural engineering as you push gingerbread to its architectural limits!

Friday (Dec 21th)
Morning Action Contraptions: Build structures that move and use gear ratios to make a foamy mess! Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Handmade Icecream: Made on the spot.
Afternoon The Human Machine: Your squishy organs do more than you realize.

Wednesday (Dec 26th)
Morning Solstice and Stones: The history of the astronomy and the sky is a long and storied one. What's the solstice, and what importance does it hold? Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Sparkling Jello: What patterns do you see?
Afternoon Stars and Constellations: What can be found in the night sky?

Thursday (Dec 27th)
Morning Crystal Creations: How and why do crystals form? Let's make our own crystals and find out! Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Crunchy Candy: Chomp into different crystals.
Afternoon Playful Polymers: Learn the science behind the squish.

Friday (Dec 28th)
Morning Charming Candles: We'll explore the history of illumination and try out two different methods of candlemaking. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Battered Banana: Marvel at the changes heat can bring.
Afternoon Convection Carousels: With the power of convection, we'll create a spinning carousel, as well as learn how convection on a grand scale creates our weather and has so much to do with if we're cold and wet this winter!





Vacation Week Tuition

Dates: Dec 20th-21st, 26th - 28th.
Program hours: 9:00am-4:00pm.

Daily Schedule: Morning is one science class and one technology class, followed by lunch and recess. We then get back to learning with a fun educational activity in the afternoon.
Extended hours: Extended AM hours are offered starting at 8:15am at an additional cost of $8 per day.
Extended PM hours are offered from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at an additional cost of $8 per half hour.
Cost: Daily tuition: $90
