Vacation Program Descriptions

Monday (Dec 26th)
Morning Gumdrop Structures: Explore delicious geometry as we make and compare various 3D shapes. How strong can gumdrops be? Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Gingerbread: One's hard and crunchy, the other soft and moist. Which is tougher?
Afternoon Papercraft & Animation: Create paper creatures and then use them as characters in a stop-motion movie.

Tuesday (Dec 27th)
Morning Candles and Light: Learn about the long history of artificial light and the hunt for lumens, then make a charm candle of your own! Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Figgy Pudding: An old and fiery recipe.
Afternoon Papercraft & Animation: Create paper creatures and then use them as characters in a stop-motion movie.

Wednesday (Dec 28th)
Morning Zipline Racer: Confront gravity, friction and balance as you try to build the best zipline racer! Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Sugarplums: Not actually plums.
Afternoon Papercraft & Animation: Create paper creatures and then use them as characters in a stop-motion movie.

Thursday (Dec 29th)
Morning Heat-Sensitive Slime: Mix up some goop that changes color in your fingers! How does it work? Find out! Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Sparkling Jello: Enjoy some frozen bubbles.
Afternoon Papercraft & Animation: Create paper creatures and then use them as characters in a stop-motion movie.

Friday (Dec 30th)
Morning Indoor Frost: Pure water forms ice at zero degrees Celcius, but there are many other types of crystals! Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Fresh Icecream: A good way to cool off after all the shaking it took to make it.
Afternoon Papercraft & Animation: Create paper creatures and then use them as characters in a stop-motion movie.





Vacation Week Tuition

Dates: Dec 26th - 30th.
Program hours: 9:00am-4:00pm.

Daily Schedule: Morning is one science class and one technology class, followed by lunch and recess. We then get back to learning with a fun educational activity in the afternoon.
Extended hours: Extended AM hours are offered starting at 8:15am at an additional cost of $8 per day.
Extended PM hours are offered from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at an additional cost of $8 per half hour.
