Vacation Program Descriptions

Tuesday (April 21st)
Morning The Sun: The biggest celestial body in our solar system by far, but how much do you really know about it? Why is it dangerous to stare at the sun? What makes it yellow instead of red or white or blue? How long will it burn, and how will it die? Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Solar Smores: Cook using energy beamed from 150,000,000 kilometers away!
Afternoon Stop-Motion Animation: An egg-shaped blob of clay transforms into a fire-breathing dragon! Learn how to create the illusion of motion with everyday materials like LEGOs, toys, clay, and paper cutouts. Bring your creative ideas to life with stop-motion animation software and your imagination.

Wednesday (April 22nd)
Morning Venus and Mars: Compare and contrast our nearest planetary neighbors, and discuss the possibility of alien life and human colonization. Which one's more suitable? Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Mars Crispies: Mmm, barren.
