Vacation Program Descriptions

Monday (April 14th)
Morning Lava Lamp:Make a cool lava sculpture in a bottle. Add a secret ingredient and see the lava begin to bubble and change. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Molten Cake: A little heat can make a whole lot of difference.
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.

Tuesday (April 18th)
Morning Fossil Fun:Use molds to make your own fossils from plaster of paris and jello! While the mold set we'll dig up some fossils. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Jello Dinos: Devour your creations.
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.

Wednesday (April 19th)
Morning Pop Rockets: Harness the power of chemical reactions and gas pressure to launch your rocket into the sky! Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Pop Rock Berries: Explosions in your mouth.
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.

Thursday (April 20th)
Morning Bubble Trouble: Can you make a bubble in a bubble? What shapes can bubbles make? How big can bubbles be? We'll make some custom bubble shapers and see. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Edible Bubbles: Catch these sweet treats on your tongue before they're blown away.
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.

Friday (April 21st)
Morning Marine Biology: Soon it will be beach time! Dissect a starfish and learn about the creatures that inhabit the largest biome on our planet, the ocean. Robotics: With Lego Mindstorms you'll build and program a robot. You'll learn the basics of programming then set your creation loose!
Break Faux Octopus: Contains no actual octopus.
Afternoon Lego Contraptions/Animation: Create moving gear-filled contraptions or use stop motion to make a video where anything can move.





Vacation Week Tuition

Dates: April 14th, 18th - 21st.
Program hours: 9:00am-4:00pm.

Daily Schedule: Morning is one science class and one technology class, followed by lunch and recess. We then get back to learning with a fun educational activity in the afternoon.
Extended hours: Extended AM hours are offered starting at 8:15am at an additional cost of $8 per day.
Extended PM hours are offered from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at an additional cost of $8 per half hour.
